After-Sun Soother a botanical repair balm

When the sun takes more than it gives back — rich butters, soothing aloe, and restorative oils to help your skin feel like itself again.

Pharmacist-Formulated Small-Batch Made in PA
$22.99 Net Wt 4 oz (113 g)

A long day outside shouldn’t cost you days of tight, uncomfortable skin.

After-Sun Soother is a rich botanical balm formulated by a pharmacist to comfort, nourish, and restore skin after time in the sun — so you bounce back faster and feel like yourself again.

Built on a base of skin-loving cocoa, avocado, and cupuaçu butters, then layered with soothing aloe, evening primrose, borage, and manuka honey, every ingredient earns its place. This isn’t a thin lotion that disappears — it’s a deeply conditioning balm that wraps stressed skin in exactly what it needs to recover.

Frequently asked

Is this a sunscreen? Will it protect me from the sun?
No — After-Sun Soother is an after-sun care balm, not a sunscreen, and it contains no SPF. Use it after time outdoors to comfort and nourish skin. For sun protection, always apply a broad-spectrum SPF before and during exposure.
Can I use it on a sunburn?
It’s designed to soothe and nourish the feeling of dry, sun-stressed skin after exposure. Apply to intact skin only — never on broken, blistered, or open areas. If skin is severely burned or blistering, or you feel unwell, that’s a sign to see a healthcare provider rather than reach for a balm.
Why is it a balm and not a lotion or gel?
Because stressed skin needs more than water that evaporates away. The butters and restorative oils in a balm stay on the skin and deeply condition it — exactly what overexposed skin is missing. For an instant cooling sensation, store your jar in the fridge.
Is it vegan?
No. This formula includes tallow and emu oil, chosen for how closely they mirror skin’s own oils and support the skin barrier. If you prefer fully plant-based skincare, this one isn’t for you — but most of our customers love how rich and effective these ingredients make it.
Sometimes butter balms get a grainy texture — does this?
Natural butter balms can develop a grainy feel if exposed to heat and then cooled slowly (like sitting in a hot car). We temper every small batch to prevent it. If grain ever appears, it’s purely cosmetic — the balm is still perfectly good, and warming a little between your fingers smooths it right out. Store below 80°F to keep it silky.
How long will one jar last?
A little goes a long way. Used after sun exposure, a 4 oz jar typically lasts a full season for most people — longer if you’re spot-treating smaller areas.
Is it safe for kids?
It’s gentle, but it does contain essential oils (lavender, spearmint, helichrysum). For children — especially under 6 — check with your pediatrician first, and always apply to intact skin only.
Who makes it?
Every jar is formulated and handcrafted in small batches in Pennsylvania by Stephanie Mitchell, R.Ph. — a pharmacist with 30+ years of experience. Rooted in nature, backed by science.
